Part of the Magic Get Together (or Magic Week) celebration is the street performers each day during the event. The street performers are all professional magicians and the event is sponsored by the Colon American Legion. Usually there are three performances daily at different times.
These shows are scheduled in advance so you can pick the act that you want to see. The schedule can be found at Abbotts Magic Get Together Website along with all the other events of the week, and while Abbotts knows the time and the place, the actual performers usually don't confirm until about a month before.
There have been street performers during the Get Together/Magic Week for over half a century in one form or another. Originally they were tips only, then Abbotts would pay them so that they could control where and when they performed, then the Chamber of Commerce turned it into a contest with prizes, now its at its current format which is probably the best because we can add them to the schedule ahead of time. Tips are appreciated but not required. Expect to see some of the best street performers / buskers in the world at these performances and they really add a lot to the atmosphere during Magic Week.
